In partnership with PRJ Compliance Soundcraft has developed a presentation on fire door installation that is aimed at contractors, developers and architects to raise awareness of this vital aspect of fire protection.
Equally applicable to the new build or refurbishment markets, the presentation covers the legislative background, relevant codes of practice and guidance documents, and offers practical illustrations of good (and bad) practice.
In the presentation reference is made to several documents including the Building Regulations Approved Document B (ADB); the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005; BS8214: 2008: Code of practice for fire door assemblies; ASDMA guidance; and BS 476 Parts 22 & 31: 1987 or BSEN1634-1:2008.
In addition, emphasis is placed on the importance of 3rd party certification in the manufacture, installation and maintenance of fire doors, offered by bodies such as Exova BM Trada, Firas and the BWF.
