With a factory full of product pallets and two new vans in the yard, Soundcraft teams were raring to return to Chadwell Towers for the aluminium upgrade of three 14-storey residential buildings owned by Thurrock Council.
As the major refurbishment project with Wates Construction progresses well, Soundcraft’s aluminium work is now underway to install thermally efficient SPW600 windows and SF52 communal stairwell curtain walling screens throughout the 14 floors of each tower block.
Renowned in UK construction for its delivery of high-performance timber and aluminium products, Soundcraft’s appointment at Chadwell Towers has expertly combined the company’s key industry strengths for bespoke doors, windows and curtain walling on this particular project.
Each stage of the upgrade from design, manufacture and installation has been meticulously managed by Soundcraft – starting with safeguarding Q-Mark certified timber fire resistance doors, already installed ahead of schedule – through to the aluminium team now onsite to meet planning and performance requirements at the high-rise dwellings originally constructed during the 1960s.
Commercial Director Michael Bishop said: “Having successful fulfilled the fire door upgrade ahead of plan last year, we are now firmly focussed on this next significant stage to complete the integration of Soundcraft’s aluminium curtain walling and windows programme, with works at Chadwell Towers set to be completed in March.”
