Congratulations to Soundcraft‘s Sue Smith, who was presented with the prestigious Skelly Award by Ordinary to Extraordinary (O2e), which strives to improve the lives of children with disabilities and serious illness.
The award, in honour of the charity’s late Paul Skelly, is bestowed upon one individual each year who has tirelessly gone above and beyond for O2e . Sue, who was nominated by her peers as a very worthy winner for 2018, gave heartfelt thanks: “I’m so thrilled to have been chosen for the Skelly Award, what an absolute honour and big thanks to those of you that put my name forward. Paul was such a lovely guy, one of life’s special souls and he really did set a precedent as a faithful ambassador for O2e; yours was a hard act to follow Mr Skelly.”
“Not one for running marathons or cycling hundreds of miles, I’ve busied myself this year with a combination of fun challenges and alternative fundraising events. Introducing new people to O2e is crucial to its continued success and to see them embrace the ethos and sign up for their own challenges is hugely rewarding.”
Already planning fundraising events for the year ahead, Sue (pictured centre) said: “I have twelve months before I hand the award to its next worthy recipient and I shall endeavour to make them count. We already have a date for our 2019 London Walk – Sunday May 26th – so look out for more details in the New Year if you’d like to join us.”
