Proud of its longstanding associations within the UK construction industry, Soundcraft further strengthened its trusted supply chain position by inviting a trainee Site Manager from Countryside Partnerships to experience life on the factory floor.

Focussed on building careers for the next generation, Countryside Partnerships has a structured Management Training programme in place which encourages professional development across the workplace and is supported with trainees undertaking part-time further education programmes.

Countryside Partnerships’ Project Director John Richardson explains: “Within the trainee programme at our Homebase project, we encouraged one of our enthusiastic Management Trainees, Jack Murphy, to broaden his knowledge and understanding of our supply chain by undertaking a one-day work experience placement directly with supply chain partner, Soundcraft.

“We worked with Soundcraft to offer an immersive experience for Jack at their Kent office and assembly workshop for a day. The experience enabled Jack to learn how projects are tendered, designed and controlled, as well as encouraging him to get his hands dirty by assisting with their product assembly team. We hope that this opportunity has broadened Jack’s outlook and understanding of how different members of our supply chain operate.”

Since his work experience placement with Soundcraft, Jack has progressed from a Trainee role with Countryside Partnerships to an Assistant Site Manager.

Jack commented: “Visiting Soundcraft’s factory and offices definitely benefited my knowledge and understanding of working with our supply chain – it was a really interesting experience to see how works operate and function for that side of the industry. Seeing the meticulous process of how the components are manufactured and fitted before they are brought to site for installation, was fascinating.

“I thoroughly enjoyed watching and getting involved with the whole manufacturing process and feel that the experience has allowed me to appreciate and understand the amount of work that is undertaken away from site, prior to any installation work commencing on our site.”
