Achieving excellence through Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Soundcraft employees have successfully completed a comprehensive programme of courses with the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology (CWCT).
Honing their knowledge throughout the year, eight members of the Soundcraft team undertook a series of specialist CWCT courses on best practice in the process of delivering building envelopes; focussed on curtain walling, windows, glazing and cladding solutions.
Covering six key modules, with accreditation by the CPD Certification Service, the results have been excellent, with participants gaining valuable knowledge to further strengthen Soundcraft’s industry expertise.
The CWCT training programme incorporated:
Fire performance of facades (F101)
UK Building Regulations in relation to the fire performance of facades and ways in which these can be met in the design and construction of curtain walling and rainscreen walls.
Acoustics (A101)
Significant engineering and physics content relating to the acoustic performance of facades and to identify key British, European and CWCT standards relevant.
Glass and glazing (C202)
Manufacture and processing of glass, its safe use, mechanical and thermal performance, with associated design, installation and inspection.
Thermal and condensation performance (C203)
Understanding thermal and condensation performance of glazed facades and specifying thermal performance at an advanced level.
Weathertightness and testing (C204)
Methods of testing (both laboratory-based and on-site) to assess primary performance and installation requirements of cladding and glazing systems used on modern buildings.
Introduction to contemporary cladding and facade systems (C201)
Cladding and glazing systems, including curtain walling and built-up walls (rainscreen and render systems), plus key performance criteria, specification and verification of façade systems.
