Soundcraft fire safety and security doors at South Quay Plaza

Soundcraft was appointed by Berkeley Homes to provide apartment entrance door sets for compliance with FD30S fire rating and certified PAS 24 Secured by Design security rating at London’s South Quay Plaza.

The high-profile residential development located on the Isle of Dogs comprises 68 floors with a total of 625 apartments and presents a landmark building on the Docklands skyline.

Berkeley Homes also commissioned Soundcraft to undertake a project specific fire test, which incorporated all components and ironmongery specified for the installation, including details such as sealant used between the back of frame and sub structure.

This dual orientation directive was selected, rather than a generic Field of Application Report, to ensure Soundcraft doors were tested to the European standard EN1363-1 2012 and EN 1634-1 2014 with two samples provided, one opening towards the furnace and one opening away.
