Constructed over five residential buildings, the New Acres urban regeneration development will also create more than 15,000 sq ft of mixed-use space, with retail, office and community uses.
Soundcraft’s undertaking will deliver design, manufacture and installation expertise across all five tower blocks, varying from 9 to 16 storeys, and the project will incorporate some 2,000 Soundcraft high-performance products for thermally efficient doors and windows.
“This is our largest contract to date, with all building projects running concurrently within an 18-month timeframe,” said Soundcraft’s Commercial Director Michael Bishop. “The team is focussed on design development at this stage with the fabrication process due to start imminently.
“We are delighted to be continuing the successful relationship between Vistry Partnerships and Soundcraft and look forward to delivering this landmark project at New Acres in Wandsworth.”
Together with 480 new open-plan residential apartments, the development aims to significantly improve the local area by adding new communal spaces and play areas, with landscaping that includes a civic square outside a proposed new entrance to Wandsworth Town station.
Hailed as a flagship scheme for the UK’s build-to-rent sector, the New Acres mixed-use project looks to provide an additional housing choice for the community, creating high-quality homes for rent by bringing brownfield sites into effective use for long-term sustainability.
Designed by executive architect Hawkins/Brown, construction is currently underway at the site in South West London with completion scheduled for Spring 2024.
